Acer Aspire One AOD150-1920 10.1-Inch Ruby Red Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life Order Now
Posted by TrendyBKK at 1:20 AM
I did some research on netbooks and was going to purchase the Acer 8.9". However, after doing some hands-on testing I decided on this one. It's been 3 weeks since purchase and I love this thing. It's the only thing I use now. I do own a Dell Laptop but it now gets very little use. I have had 0 problems with this unit. First boot took some time but who cares, you only do it once. Despite what I had read, you can upgrade to 2GB of RAM, which I did. It will register as 1.99GB.
Pros:
Upgradeable to 2GB of RAM
Clear bright screen
Fast boot up to desk top
Plenty of hard drive room
Built in web-cam and mic work perfectly and in low light
Web surfing is just as fast, if not faster then my Dell and work PC
Very light, easy to move around
6 cell battery that actually holds its charge, I get about 6 hours of use
The battery design actually acts as a handle
Touch pad has scroll function
Nice finish and design
Easy brightness adjustment
Cons:
Touchpad could be a tad bigger
Left and right mouse buttons are built into one, like a rocker switch, makes right clicking a bit tricky
Keyboard a little smaller then other units, but nothing you can't get use to
Speakers could be a little louder at max volume
No Bluetooth
No CD drive, but that is how it goes
No backlight for the keyboard which makes it hard to use in the dark
I would have given this a 5 star rating but for the touchpad and no back-light on the keyboard. It does suck sometimes not having a DVD drive but I have found ways to watch movies using my other laptop and software. (HINT ISO RIP and transfer the file!).
All and all I am very happy with this unit and would highly recommend it.Get more detail about Acer Aspire One AOD150-1920 10.1-Inch Ruby Red Netbook - 6.5 Hour Battery Life.
