My very first computer was an Acer that ran Windows 3.0, and it still runs. I was going to repplace a very obsolete Palm handheld when I came across a picture of the Aspire One. I began to investigate, and most reviewers gave it 4 to 5 stars. It is fast and compact (I carry it in my purse). I am running Office 2007, McAfee, Internet Explorer 8, and Adobe Standard 8.0. My boot time is less than 20 seconds. The screen images are crystal clear. The keyboard does take some getting use to, but its portability and other features make it worth the price. Acer also makes an accessory kit that includes an external DVD drive, optical mouse, and slip cover.
